Lions’ donation to Delray Library aids visually impaired

Published July 6th, 2008

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Delray Beach Public Library recently received a gift of $500 from the Delray Beach Lions Club to purchase materials for the visually impaired.

John S. Parke, past president of the Lions Club and a member since 1970, presented a check to Library Director Alan Kornblau.

“The library is very grateful to the Lions Club for its ongoing support and generosity,” said the director.

The Delray Beach Lions Club has been giving a gift of $500 to the Delray Beach Public Library twice each year since 2001. All they ask is that the money be used to purchase materials for the visually impaired, such as large print books and books-on-tape. The library’s collection has grown over the years as a result of the donations.

For information on how to support the Delray Beach Public Library, visit www.delraylibrary.org or call 561-266-9490.
