Vets for Freedom group backs West for Congress

Vets for Freedom – a nonpartisan organization established by combat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan – has announced its support of Allen West for U.S. Congress in the 22nd District of Florida – the seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Ron Klein.
A 20-year Army officer, West served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, earning a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals (one with valor), and a Valorous Unit Award.
“As a proud Army veteran of Iraq, I am humbled to speak on behalf of over 25,000 members of Vets for Freedom in offering our strong endorsement of Allen West for United States Congress,” said Vets for Freedom Co-Chairman, David Bellavia.
"Few people know true commitment like those who lead men under the fires of battle,” Bellavia added. “Allen West is man who has never taken the easy way out. He does what is right because it is right.”
The mission of Vets for Freedom, he said, is to educate the American public about the importance of achieving success in these conflicts by applying first-hand knowledge to issues of American military strategy.
